WHAT WE DO
What Is A Prefab Steel Building?
Prefabricated Steel Buildings have building components or entire sections of a structure manufactured in a controlled factory environment. Once fabrication is complete, building components / sections are delivered to the construction site for assembly.
What is the Process?
Xpress Built Prefabricated Steel Structures offer a turnkey and efficient construction process, allowing you to have your building up and running in drastically less time in comparison to Wood and Concrete Structures.
1. Planning and Design
- Speak to our team and tell us what you have in mind for your custom building.
- We help you determine your building requirements, including size, purpose, and any specific features or customization needed.
- We work with your engineer / architect to obtain any necessary permits or approvals from local authorities.
- If you don’t have an engineer / architect, we can supply one for you.
2. Budgeting
- Establish a budget that covers the cost of the pre-fabricated building, transportation, site preparation, foundation, and any additional features or amenities.
3. Site Preparation
- Prepare the construction site, which may involve clearing the land, grading, and creating a suitable foundation (e.g., concrete slab, piers, or footings) according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
4. Ordering and Manufacturing
- Place an order with Xpress Built for your custom Prefabricated Steel Structure, and then prepare your construction site by clearing the land, grading, and creating a suitable foundation according to the Xpress Built Steel Structure specifications and plans.
- Once you have approved your design, and placed your order, Xpress Built will then begin manufacturing the building components, including structural elements, panels, roofing, doors, and windows, in a controlled factory environment.
5. Transportation / Delivery
- Once the components are ready, they are transported to the construction site using trucks or other appropriate transportation methods. Careful planning is necessary, especially for oversized or heavy components. Xpress Built will handle all transportation of your Prefabricated Steel Structure.
6. On-Site Assembly
- A crew of skilled workers, which we can often supply if you’re State side, will assemble the pre-fabricated building on-site.
- If you’re outside of the United States, Xpress Built will find a construction team to erect your building for you, client is always free to find alternative bids, or use their own crews if they so choose.
- Assembly typically involves erecting the structural frame, attaching panels, roofing, and installing doors and windows.
7. Utilities and Finishing
- Connect utilities such as electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems if required. Finish the interior and exterior, which may include insulation, interior walls, flooring, painting, and landscaping.
- Xpress Built will provide all structural pieces of your build out: Frame, walls, floors, doors, windows, insulation, roofing, etc.
- Alternatively, clients will need to procure utilities and their accessories (plumbing, electrical, etc) from another party, in some instances we can assist with this.
8. Inspections and Quality Control
- Client calls the local authority to inspect the completed building to ensure it meets all safety and quality standards.
- Client and local authority work in tandem to address any issues or deficiencies that may arise during the inspection process.
9. Occupancy and Use
Once your new Xpress Built Steel Strucutre is approved and deemed safe for occupancy, you are good to go!!
